The family of a Davis man who was lost in the wilderness for more than a week says he survived on runoff and pine nuts. The Davis Enterprise reports that 25-year-old Daniel Thompson of Davis turned up around a campground in Lake County on Sunday.
His father, Brian Thompson, says he had been missing since April 13 after leaving on a camping trip. He lost control of his car and went off a road in a rural area northwest of Clear Lake. With no cellphone reception, he wandered the wilderness searching for help, surviving on pine nuts and runoff.
