SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento Police will be putting a focus on motorcycle safety this weekend.

Hoping to reduce motorcycle related accidents and fatailites, officers will be paying special attention to traffic violations that contribute to bike accidents.

Officer Doug Morse says police will be looking for unsafe lane chances, failure to use turn signals, speeding and -- of course -- distracted driving.

"We'll be contacting drivers of both motorcycles and motor vehicles and cars and reminding them of these certain violations that oftentimes put motorcyclists in a dangerous position," Morse said.
