The body of Army Specialist Ray Ramirez, a Sacramento native who attended Florin High School before joining the Army in 2010 was laid to rest this afternoon at the Sacramento Valley Veterans Cemetery in Dixon.  Patriot Guard Riders were on hand to pay tribute and mourn the loss of the local area veteran.  Family and friends remembered Ramirez as an exceptional baseball player during his high school days.  Ramirez enlisted in the Army in 2011 and had been in Afghanistan just three months before he was killed.  The Defense Department says Ramirez's unit was hit by a improvised explosive device.  In speaking of his son, father Jose Ramirez said--quote "That boy is more, more of a man than I've ever known."--unquote.  Ramirez was 20.
