The Stockton City Council will meet July 9th to decide whether to declare a state of emergency. KCRA reports that a decision will also be made about whether to put a three-quarter cent sales tax measure on the ballot. If passed the money from the sales tax would be used to pay down the city's bankruptcy and put to hire 120 more police officers. The meeting will be open to the public.
