A star San Francisco 49ers player is pleading no contest to several of the criminal charges he faces in the South Bay.

Aldon Smith was in a San Jose courtroom this afternoon where he enter the no contest pleas to felony illegal gun possession and misdemeanor DUI charges.

The 24-year-old linebacker will be sentenced in July and could get jail time.

Smith has other legal woes in Southern California where he was arrested for an alleged false bomb threat at Los Angeles International Airport in April.

He has yet to be charged in that case.
