The circus performers injured when they fell 25 to 40 feet Sunday morning in Providence, Rhode Island, due to an equipment failure are expected to recover.

As of last night, eight of them are reportedly still in the hospital.

Four were in serious condition, but none of the injuries were thought to be life-threatening.

The remaining performances of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus in Providence Sunday and yesterday were canceled after the accident.
