What's been a very active wildfire season in Northern California, so far, shows no signs of letting up.
Firefighters are making steady progress on the Monticello Fire in Yolo County along Highway 128 at Monticello Dam and the southeast shore of Lake Berryessa.
According to Cal Fire, it's now 45 percent contained with approximately 6,500 acres burned. No homes have been lost.
At the same time, the Hutto Fire is burning near Smartsville in Nevada County, and it's threatened homes and forced evacuations. Louis Silva lives in the area.
"We were watching the spotter plane and it was flying over the top of my house, so I knew he was really close," Silva said.
Evacuations remain in effect with Hutto Fire responsible for burning 37 acres, but Cal Fire says it's 50 percent contained.
