After Gold Rush Days got canceled due to drought-related issues, a new event set for Labor Day weekend in Old Sacramento has emerged.

It's called Americana, and Mike Testa with the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau says they're happy they could pull together something so quickly.

"It's one of those things, that there were a lot of people, including the CVB, that was disappointed that Gold Rush Days had to be canceled. So a lot of people offered to help," Testa said.

So that help has materialized into a replacement event.

"The theme of Americana kind of rose to the top when we were brainstorming. And the thought is, to bring so many of the great things that happened in this country and display them in Old Sacramento," Testa said.

There'll be a beer crawl, country band, and a movie, as well.

And just like Gold Rush Days, Americana will be free.
