Another suspect has been sentenced in a 2011 beating of a white man who was with an African American woman at a convenience store in Marysville.
U.S. Attorney Ben Wagner says 28-year-old Perry Jackson received five years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty to the charges. 'The three men all have white supremacist tattoos and apparently associate with a white supremacist gang in that area' says Wagner.
Which is why, Wagner says, all will be sentenced under the Shepard-Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act as it was in the sentencing of another suspect, 30-year-old Billy Hammet, who received seven years and three months of prison time.
Thirty-three-year-old Anthony Tyler is still awaiting sentencing.
All three men pleaded guilty to the charges against them.
