Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski introduced legislation today to strengthen the rights of residential care facility residents and to give them more choices concerning the treatment and care they receive.

The assemblyman said,

"Too many seniors are spending their remaining years living in deplorable conditions, being mistreated and feeling like their voices are not being heard.”

The bill is supported by the California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform.

The organization is one of several calling for changes to the state’s Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Act.
