AUBURN, Calif. -- Auburn police arrested a man who allegedly stole and then sold food meant for the needy.

Police say that 41-year-old Jeff Holzman participated in the theft of 300 pounds of meat from the Salvation Army on Sutter Street.

Investigators says the thieves gained access to the freezer where the meat was being stored sometime during the week last week.

It was recovered from a commercial business in Penryn where it was photographed and then returned to the Salvation Army.

Holzman faces firearm, burglary and other charges.

Auburn Police are still looking for a second suspect. Anyone with information is asked to give them a call at 530-823-4237.
