Two Elk Grove residents are being arraigned in court this afternoon for possession of about 90,000 prescription pills.
Homeland Security officials arrested Farah Sarwar and Hussain Shah-zad after finding more than 10,000 prescription pills in their home on Witt Way this August. The drugs include Adderall, Vicodin, Hydrocodone and Xananx. Another 80,000 were later found in a storage unit leased by Shah-zad.
A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court charges the two with possession and intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to do the same.
Authorities are declining comment.
