Vice President Joe Biden was in California this weekend expressing his support for a new law that would ban workplace discrimination against gay people in the U.S.
Joe Biden is calling on Congress to pass a measure that would outlaw workplace discrimination against gays, saying it's outrageous that the country is even debating the subject.
"Twenty years from now, as Americans look back and say, 'How in the hell could that have ever been allowed," Biden said.
At the annual Human Rights Coalition dinner in Los Angeles, Biden said that the rights of LGBT people are an "inseparable" part of the Obama administrations foreign policy.
He is confident the country has "moved and will continue to move far beyond the prejudice of the past and of today..."
