A scary scene for Yolo County Sheriff's deputies and West Sacramento firefighters as they investigated a vehicle they thought contained an explosive device.
They were called to County Road 124 in an unincorporated area of Yolo county around 12:30 this afternoon. When they got there, they found a man lying in the roadway. While treating him, he became abusive. Deputies noticed a black pick-up truck nearby with one end of an electrical cord sticking into the fuel tank, and the other leading into the bed of the truck. It was determined that there may be a homemade explosive device in the bed of the truck. A perimeter was set up, and the bomb squad was called. Around 3 pm it was determined there was not an explosive inside the vehicle, and the roadway was opened. The man was arrested for being uncooperative.
