The Nigerian military knows where more than 200 kidnapped girls are located but says it won't use force to rescue them.

A Nigerian military official said, "the good news for the parents of the girls is that we know where they are but we cannot tell you."

The Islamist militant group Boko Haram kidnapped the girls seven weeks ago.

Most in the Nigerian military feel a rescue attempt would put the girls in danger.

The BBC reported today a deal was in the works to exchange the girls for Boko Haram prisoners but it was called off at the last minute.
