Sacramento Firefighters are really earning their pay. They had two major fires just this morning.
The first fire broke out early this morning inside a Mexican restaurant near J and 36th Streets. Even though this was a two-alarm fire, Sacramento City Deputy Chief Niko King says it was quickly contained.
"We called the second alarm just because it was a commercial building and there are residents close by, but the crews were able to get the fire knocked down," he said.
Then, just after 6:30 in the morning, a three-alarm fire broke out at a Victorian in the 1300 block of F Street.
"It spread to an adjacent Victorian just to the West, so we had two of those Victorians going at the same time," said King.
He added that 15 - 20 people got out of the homes unharmed. These were two of four fires for Sac City crews in just 36 hours, though King doesn't see any connection at this point.
