The state's falling jobless rate has lead to the end of some federal unemployment benefits. A final ten weeks of assistance ended last month for more than 100,000 Californians when the state's June jobless rate fell to 8.5 percent. Help is available, including some cash assistance through CalWORKS, low-cost auto insurance options and assistance to utility customers. Three other tiers of federal extension benefits are set to expire at the end of the year.
