Following a ruling knocking down much of the states notoriously strong concealed weapon rules, Californians are rushing to get permits.

Residents, predominantly in rural areas, farm country, and more conservative parts of the state, are rushing to apply to for concealed weapons permits.

The flood comes after the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals struck down discretionary application of rules for permits as a violation of the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

The ruling eliminated the requirement of applicants to show "good cause" for a permit.

The court said a desire for self-defense was enough to qualify for a permit.
