The gorilla born via cesarean section at the San Diego Zoo on March 12th has been moved out of the veterinary hospital.
Zoo officials say the unnamed female baby gorilla met her family for the first time Saturday.
The gorilla is in a viewing room where the other seven gorilla's in her troop can see her, but she will remain behind a protective barrier until she's healthy enough to join them.
Zoo vets say the visual introduction is the first of many steps before the baby gorilla lives with them.
Her mother, 18-year-old Imani is also reported to be doing just fine following a very difficult birth.
