We're getting more details about the proposed downtown sports and entertainment complex ahead of a meeting this week for the Sacramento Planning and Design Commission.

Come this Thursday, the planning commission will be asked to take a look at some of the modifications made to the plans for the arena project, mostly those made to the area around the arena.

The city staff is recommending approval of five bars and night clubs in the entertainment district the Kings owners and city want to develop downtown.

Another change involves expansion of a plaza that's part of the arena and about 3-and-a-half acres of open space proposed for the project.

The planning commission expected to consider a vote on billboards which would go on city property around Sacramento as part of this deal.
