The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a school bus near Placerville has been taken into custody, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

Five children on the school bus complained of pain after it crashed this morning, according to the CHP.

An ambulance responded to the scene and three students and the bus driver were transported to the hospital as a precaution. Their injuries were considered minor. 

Traffic was blocked at the scene of the crash on Grizzly Flat Road, south of Placerville in the community of Somerset.  

The students are with El Dorado Union School District. The bus followed all safety policies and procedures, according to a statement from the district.  

El Dorado Union School District is notifying parents and guardians of students involved in the accident.
