Good News from the scene of a house fire in Citrus Heights.  Police in the area reported the home was fully involved in flames and people were trapped when fire units arrived after 6 o'clock this morning.

"We had initial reports that there were victims possibly inside.  After crews searched multiple times just to make sure no one was there, the occupants actually returned to their home.  They had left at 4:30 this morning and they were not home during the fire," said Captain Michelle Eidam with Sac Metro Fire.

Firefighters were able to rescue four dogs trapped in the home during the blaze.  The animals were not injured and reunited with family members.  An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.  Powerlines were reported to be down at the home and that is being looked at as a possible cause.
