City of Sacramento Looking for Water Conservation Volunteers

City of Sacramento Looking for Water Conservation Volunteers
Posted Tuesday, March 4th 2014 @ 8am  by KFBK News - Joe Michaels

Sacramento City Officials are looking for volunteers to promote water conservation:

Water Conservation Ambassadors will help spread the word about protecting our water sources and teach others about saving water:

"There's a lot of confusion about how much to water, when to water.  There's a lot of inefficient irrigation systems.  There's a lot of new technology to learn about," said William Granger.

Granger, with the Department of Utilities, says volunteers will also conduct neighborhood outreach and help the city reduce water consumption.

Ambassadors will work in the field and at the Water Conservation Office.  They'll also have the opportunity to work at special events  in the city.

A two-hour training workshop will be provided.

The contact for more information about water conservation ambassadors is Jennifer who can be reached at (916) 808-5605 or via e-mail at jmatsumoto@cityofsacramento.org.
