A half-dozen videos shot by Corrections Officers of cell extractions have been released online.

The videos are stark, and cold.

Corrections officers document their names and purposes before beginning a cell extraction with a mentally ill inmate who refuses to take his meds or even leave his cell.

These videos have been fought over as part of the 23-year-class action lawsuit.

The lawyers advocating for reform say the videos are factual evidence of excessive force and mistreatment.

The Department of Corrections says the video's don't show enough of the plannings, discussions and training involved to ensure the safety of the inmates, prison medical staff and officers.

The release of the videos came after an order by the federal judge hearing the case.
