You've seen him in plenty of suits, but what about the Pro Tem in a black robe?

The idea of Justice Darrell Steinberg has recently been floated by a columnist with the Ventura County Star.

The Sacramento Senator is terming out of the State Legislature and writer Timm Herdt says Governor Brown should appoint him to fill one of two openings on the California Supreme Court.

It's not exactly a weak case. Steinberg did spend time as an administrative law judge and obviously knows state law.

He'd previously mulled runs for Sacramento Mayor or Attorney General, but says he won't challenge Kevin Johnson or Kamala Harris, so both of those ideas are out.
