A confusion over the Covered California exchange web analytics is being blamed for a report yesterday saying the group was overstating the amount of people who had used the website in its first day of use. The Communications Director for Covered California tells the Sacramento Bee a spokesman made a mistake when he told the Los Angeles Times that the agency got the numbers wrong by nearly tenfold

Oscar Hidalgo says the agency received about 514,000 unique visitors who reviewed more than 5 million pages on Tuesday. The exchange received over 7,000 applications for insurance and 19,000 calls into its service centers on opening day.
