Cyclists in Town for Amgen Helping Out Local Charity

Posted May 8th, 2014 @ 7:28am by KFBK News - Kitty O'Neal

Some of the cyclists who are in town for the Amgen tour are taking time this evening to help a local charity. You're invited to join them and "Have a Belgian with a Belgian."

The idea is to share California Craft Belgian style beer with some of the Amgen stars -- many of them Belgian.

"It's an exclusive event, meaning if you come ... the cyclists aren't gonna be on the other side of a big room, you're going to be able to walk up, say hi, have a chance to talk to them about what they do and what they love to do," Alan Anderson with Shriners Hospital said.

Anderson says it's a rare opportunity to meet these guys atop Sacramento's U.S. Bank Tower Building.

"You're gonna get sky views of the region including sunsets later. We also have a German band coming," he said.

Get tickets at the NorCal Shriners website under events.

Tonight's event benefits the local Shriners Hospitals for Children and Northern California cycling development organizations
