Czech Republic Ambassador Petr Gandalovic is coming to Auburn as a special guest taking part in the first of a series of community educational and inspirational events organized by community leaders called "Let's Never Forget."
This first event is focusing on the Holocost and will feature the work of Czech Jewish author Arnošt Lustig. Lustig died in 2011 at the age of 84, but his daughter, Eva Lustigovà, will present the movie she wrote and directed, “The Presence of Arnošt Lustig."
Holocaust survivor Irene Weiss, editor and literary translator Alex Zucker, and U.S. Heritage Commission Chairman Lesley Weiss, are also expected to attend.
The 3-day event begins Thursday. September 4th with a dinner reception, a film screening Saturday and a panel discussion Sunday all in the Auburn area.
