Steven Currall, the dean of UC Davis' Graduate School of Management, is stepping down this fall to help lead the group exploring a proposed "third campus" in or near Sacramento.
Last month, Chancellor Linda Katehi, proposed a new site to focus on food, agriculture and nutrition.
She told the Bee one possible site would be the railyards on the edge of downtown, but others are being considered as well.
Currall will help draft a financial strategy for a build-out and get involved in fund-raising efforts.
He's served as the graduate school's dean for the last five years. The program has recieved national honors.
