SACRAMENTO -- If the EDD's new computer system is fixed, why are so many of California's unemployed still missing their checks?
State lawmakers are taking a long look at what's going wrong. News10 uncovered documents that show some EDD employees were worried there was inadequate testing of the new computer system.
However, EDD Spokesperson Loree Levy says the department has taken every precaution.
"We were testing as long as a year ago, and any potential defects that come up, you address those, fix them within the system, and then move on," Levy said.
Now that glitches continue to delay payment to California's unemployed, Deloitte Consulting is also under scrutiny.
State Senators are meeting with the firm's top brass, asking them why the $100 million system is failing.
