Don't mess with Elk Grove.
That's the message in an advertisement placed in the Houston Business Journal by some leaders in the Sacramento suburb.
Officials tell our Business Journal that they placed the ad to strike back at Governor Rick Perry and his trips that aim to lure companies away from California. It depicts a truck rolling through a dirt road with a custom "Don't Mess" bumper sticker.
Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis says the ad makes some tongue in cheek references to Texas stereotypes: we have big trucks and a low cost of living, too.
