A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly setting a number of fires set at Elk Grove High School.

Two of the fires took place in boys' restrooms during the lunch period on March 20. They were extinguished immediately by students and school officials. Fire officials were notified immediately of the fires.

Consumnes Fire Investigators -- working alongside Elk Grove School and administrators from the school -- determined these were more than likely tied to a number of other fires that had started the past couple of weeks.

The teen is a student at the high school and was arrested on March 21.

If you have any information regarding those responsible for the fires on campus or at Elk Grove Regional Park you are encouraged to contact the Fire Department at 916-405-7118. Messages left on this tip line are anonymous.
