The family of Samuel Duran is standing by their relative as the 32-year-old faces attempted murder charges after firing on Roseville Police Officers sparking a nine-hour standoff.
Samuel Duran's cousin Alex Felix tells News10 he witnessed part of the chase and believes a Roseville Police officer shot his own partner during the chase of Duran.

"The driver jumped out right behind him, and 'boom' and then the next thing you know he's like, 'I'm shot, I'm shot.' So we figure that the driver's side officer shot his own partner," Felix said.

Even though evidence points to Duran as the shooter, Felix and Duran's Aunt Davina Sandoval say it was a case of friendly fire.
"The officer went down, yes he did, but we don't believe that Sam shot that officer," Sandoval said.

Roseville Police and the FBI are working to determine the facts about the chase and standoff.
