FBI agents have searched a legislative office across from the state Capitol.

Mark Hedlund, a spokesman for Senate President Darrell Steinberg, says staffers discovered the small room was assigned to Senator Leland Yee, who was indicted on federal charges last week.

They informed the agents, who obtained a warrant and searched through files and a computer.

Hedlund says the office was used rarely, mostly when aides from Yee's home district were in Sacramento.

The FBI searched his main Capitol offices last week. He has been suspended while he awaits trial.
