A federal grant means Sacramento County will be able to continue some pretty agressive enforcement of drunk drivers.

The state office of traffic safety is giving just over a million dollars to the district attorney's office to fund a specialized team that concentrates solely on drunk driving incidents.

"Specifically DUI's involving collisions where there's a fatality or a major injury to a victim in the collision," said Deputy District Attorney Kari Reed.

She added that the money means prosecutors will be able to be on call at all hours, working hand in hand with authorities as soon as investigations get underway.

The team also holds the classes many of us are familiar with, like the "Every 15 Minutes" seminars in local schools.
