Fire crews may have to remain on the scene of a big fire at the city dump for another day or two because of smoldering debris.

The fire broke out at the facility on South Watt Avenue around 7:00 last night, sending clouds of black smoke into the sky, and low water pressure caused early problems for firefighters.

After water pressure was increased, firefighters were able to knock down the flames fairly quickly, and no structures were threatened.
