Fireplace Use Banned in 7 California Counties

Air district officials have issued a ban on fireplace use across seven counties.

They say burning wood, pellets and manufactured logs in residential fireplaces or stoves will be prohbitied until midnight tonight due to bad air quality across much of the Central Valley.

The counties include San Joaquin, Stanislaus Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare. Portions of Kern County are also included. 

Violations can result in fines.
