The next reporter at a Central Valley newspaper could be a mechanical one.

The Fresno Bee is testing a small drone aircraft for possible use in photography of accidents, fires, farmlands and waterways or in situations where human journalists are unable to get to a news scene.

The Business Journal says the "quadcopter" that may be used can range in price from $600 to $1,200. There is one obvious limitation: the drone can only stay airborn for about 20 minutes.
