In the wake of the accident Saturday night that took the life of dirt track racer Kevin Ward Jr., former NASCAR champ Tony Stewart hasn't announced whether he'll drive in this weekend's Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.

He has announced that he will not appear Saturday in a short track race in Warsaw, Indiana.

Ward was killed when he was hit by a dirt track car driven by Stewart during the race.

After bumping the wall, Ward got out of his car and proceeded to walk onto the track.

With cars whizzing by, he began pointing in the direction of Stewart's car, which had made contact with Ward's vehicle before it hit the wall.

After one driver was able to avoid hitting Ward, Stewart's car fishtailed and drove over the 20-year-old.
