General Motors is telling drivers of some of its vehicles not to have too much stuff on their key ring.

GM is facing a government probe for a long-standing default that affects more than one-and-a-half-million vehicles and has been linked to a dozen deaths.

The problem is that a heavy key ring may cause the ignitions in those vehicles to shut off.

GM says that even if the drivers affected by the recall have taken their car to the shop for repairs, they should still only have a key and a fob on their key rings.
