Gov. Jerry Brown announced today his endorsement of Maggy Krell for Sacramento District Attorney.
Krell currently serves as deputy attorney general, leading efforts to investigate human trafficking.
"As a local prosecutor and now as deputy attorney general, Krell is ready for the job. She has successfully prosecuted murderers, gang members and sex offenders," Brown said.
Governor Brown is the fourth past or present A.G. to endorse Krell, joining Attorney General Kamala Harris, current State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, and former Attorney General John Van de Kamp.
Her main opponent, Anne Marie Schubert, a prosecutor in the Sacramento DA's Office, is supported by current DA Jan Scully and Sacramento County Sheriff Scot Jones.
