Scale it back. Governor Jerry Brown has finally weighed in on the much talked about water bond.
Brown has stayed pretty quiet about the negotiations but reportedly met with both Republican and Democratic leaders Tuesday to offer up some numbers: $6 billion total, with $2 billion slated for new storage projects.
Both of those figures fall short of what's been debated so far in the legislature, a $10 billion proposal failed to gain traction this week, as GOP lawmakers had problems with the specifics.
The official deadline to get a measure on the November ballot is tomorrow, but lawmakers can stretch that by a couple of weeks.
