Are you being scammed? Check your credit statement for a mysterious -- and very particular -- charge.
The Better Business Bureau says if you see a charge for $9.84 and you don't recognize it, call your bank because it's fraud -- a scammer hoping that a small fee will fly under your radar.
"Basically it goes unnoticed so it goes unreported," Gary Almond with the BBB in Sacramento said.
Almond says this has been happening across the country. The charge is from any number of websites for some sort of customer service.
"The web can make anybody look very legitimate," Almond said.
The scam may stem from the recent Target breach, or any number of others.
"It could be almost anything," Almond said.
Your best bet: cancel that card and get a new one and place a fraud alert on your file.
