An accident involving two big-rigs backed up traffic on Westbound I-80 this morning.
California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Liz Dutton said a ladder in the road forced the driver of an SUV to swerve, causing a chain reaction. That led to the collision of two big rigs.
One of the big rigs was carrying dried fruit overturned, causing it to spill its load. Diesel fuel is also leaking at the scene.
Three people were transported to the hospital with injuries. Their conditions are unknown.
