As military fighting continues along the Gaza Strip after Hamas leaders rejected a cease-fire proposal from Egypt, California legislators are speaking out against the terrorist organization.
The California Legislative Jewish Caucus released a statement today extending solidarity and support for the people of Israel.
"Looking at what's happened over the last week or 10 days, hundreds if not thousands of rockets being sent from Gaza over two-thirds of Israel now, just puts Israel in a position where they have to defend themselves now," Senator Marty Block said.
Block says California is speaking up because its relationship and ties to Israel are very deep on social, scientific and economic levels.
The caucus particularly condemns the unprovoked launching of rockets and the use of innocent civilians as human shields for offensive military aggression.
