Johnson Appoints Committee to Research Changes Need for 'Strong Mayor' Measure

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson has appointed a committee of council members to look into what changes would need to be made in local government if voters pass a "strong mayor" ballot measure in November.

The initiative would transfer many of the operations of the city manager's office to the mayor's.

Johnson has raised the idea multiple times over his five year tenure.
