A jury has convicted Ryan James McGowan on two felony firearms counts.

33-year-old McGowan is guilty of not only selling a large capacity ammunition magazine to an undercover federal agent, but also owning a shotgun classified by a prosecution expert as an assault weapon.

Before the trial, McGowan pleaded no contest to the charge of misdemeanor possession of testosterone. He faces a maximum of one year in jail on that count.

Based on his background as a law enforcement officer, Judge Steve White allowed McGowan to remain free on $30,000 bond.
