Free cataract screenings are again being offered for those without insurance. The eligible who need cataract surgery to improve their vision can sign up for the April 12th screenings provided by doctors from Kaiser Permanente.
Up to 20 surgeries will be performed in early May as part of Mission Cataract USA, an annual program where doctors provide the sight-restoring procedure to hundreds of the uninsured across the country.
Screening appointments are now being taken. They're first-come, first-serve through April 3rd... or until all the slots are filled.
Kaiser Permanente has offered the free screenings and surgeries for 19 years.
