A shocking statistic from California Attorney General Kamala Harris Thursday: 70% of the nation's drugs come from California, mainly methamphetamine.
Harris issued the first comprehensive report analyzing the current state of transnational criminal organizations in California.
It found that the three emerging type of multi-nation crimes are the trafficking of drugs, weapons and human beings; money laundering and high-tech crimes such as digital piracy, hacking and fraud.
The report says California is the primary source of methamphetamine nationwide.
Harris is recommending the California state Legislature should amend state law to target transnational criminal organizations operating in California.
