The gauntlet has been thrown and a response is expected by Friday.

Consistent with the challenge Gov. Jerry Brown issued to Meg Whitman following the June 2010 primary election, Neel Kashkari, the Republican gubernatorial candidate today sent a letter to Brown challenging him to participate in at least one town hall meeting and one formal debate in five regions ahead of the November gubernatorial election.

That's a 10-debate tour which will come to Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, San Diego and Los Angeles.
